Easy, Healthy Baby & Toddler Meals, Snacks and Activities

10 July - Toddler in the Kitchen...

Hi there. It's Sumari from EasyHealthyKids.com, with a yummy new cookie recipe and a great baby friendly dinner...

The family: Fred is a headstrong 2 year, 8 month old toddler boy, and Sarah is my sweet 7 month old baby girl.

This week I learned how to spend more time with Fred while I'm busy in the kitchen, and Sarah discovered a new favorite food. Read on for this week's best baby and toddler food and activities.

Fred's favorite food of the week - Fred loved these Chocolate Cream Cheese Cookies, maybe because he helped to make it with me. They are soft and chewy and made with coconut flour. They do contain chocolate chips so are best suited as an occasional treat. But you can easily leave out the chocolate and serve it as a healthy snack.

Sarah's favorite food of the week - I found this recipe for a Chicken and Pesto Quesidilla and tried it out on my kids. I used canned chicken in water and it was nice and soft for Sarah to eat.

Fred's morning tea box of the week - I bought a melon which I cut up for Fred's morning tea box. In his snack box for the week: the yellow melon, cucumber slices, celery sticks, a mandarin, Cashews and the Chocolate Cream Cheese Cookies we made.

Activity of the week - This week Fred started helping me in the kitchen while I bake or make dinner. This has been working great, and he seems to be more willing to eat new foods if he had a hand in making them. I just carefully supervise him while in the kitchen.

Joke of the week - We've been having a bad run with illnesses this winter, so this joke is well suited.
