6 November - Surviving Restaurants...

Hi there. It's Sumari from EasyHealthyKids.com, and in this week's newsletter you'll find a 5-star cinnamon bun recipe that is Fred's favorite muffin, and a recipe for a new take on broccoli and chicken that Sarah especially enjoyed. Also...how to survive a restaurant outing with 2 kids: restaurant busy bags for toddlers.

The family: Fred is a headstrong 3 year old toddler boy, and Sarah is my sweet 10 month old baby girl.

Fred's favorite food of the week

I'm trying to bake more with coconut flour instead of almond flour since it's less expensive and nut free. I found this Cinnamon Bun Muffin recipe, and they are truly amazing, and a big hit with Fred.

They are sweet and crunchy and reminds me of a cinnamon donut. I substituted the honey for 50g butter and 4 tablespoons Stevia.

If you only ever make one coconut flour recipe, let this be the one.

Sarah's favorite food of the week

Sarah loves food. This recipe for orange chicken with creamy broccoli was a big hit with her. Who knew adding mayo to broccoli can make them so yummy.

Fred's activity of the week

We had a restaurant lunch date with my family this week. My husband said I should get some things ready for the kids to keep them busy at the restaurant.

This article gave me the idea to make a toddler restaurant busy bag.

I didn't have enough time before going to the restaurant to make a special bag so I just packed some of Fred's puzzles in a pencil case to keep him busy.

Sarah's activity of the week

Sarah enjoyed these Halloween match cards that were in the restaurant busy bag. She liked looking at and handling the pictures. I also played the matching game with her, but she just loves picking up the cards and then dropping them again.
