Easy, Healthy Baby & Toddler Meals, Snacks and Activities

21 May - Surprisingly Cheesy...

Hi there. It's Sumari from EasyHealthyKids.com, and here are the best snacks, foods and activities I've found this week for having easy, healthy kids...

The family: Fred is a 2 year, 7 month old toddler, well into his terrible two's, and Sarah is my 5 month old baby girl.

Fred's favourite food of the week - This week was a surprisingly cheesy week for Fred.

I didn't plan it that way, but for some reason every snack I gave him contained cheese. He enjoyed the savoury cheesiness of these almond and cheese crackers the most (even though they are more of a cookie than a cracker!).

Sarah's favourite food of the week - Sarah is now 5 months old, but she is not gaining enough weight according to the nurse. She recently started eating solids, and to help her gain weight I've started adding more fat to her foods. Healthy fats are beneficial to any kid's growth and development.

I've made her this butternut squash with added butter. She just loves it and gobbled up a big amount of butternut puree.

Fred's morning tea box of the week - Fred devoured his snack box this week. It contained blueberries, these date coconut flour cookies, these popcorn nests, veggie sticks and sliced pear.

Fred's activity of the week - I found this simple low cost, easy to setup, activity guide and just tried the first activity (swatting flies). I didn't want to print and laminate extra printouts so I just used alphabet cards that I already had.

This is a great activity - Fred enjoys swatting the flies, and he learns letters and words while doing it.

Sarah's activity of the week - I found this article with developmental activities for 5 month olds and I am going to try and play one activity a week with Sarah.
