Easy, Healthy Baby & Toddler Meals, Snacks and Activities

9 October - Science!

Hi there. It's Sumari from EasyHealthyKids.com, and this week is all about soft foods and science experiments.

The family: Fred is a headstrong 3 year old toddler boy, and Sarah is my sweet 10 month old baby girl.

Fred and Sarah enjoyed a new oats bake and more soft foods for babies without teeth. We also did a fun science experiment that we will continue in the future.

Fred's favorite food of the week

Fred loves to eat oats, so he naturally loved these Oat Muffin Bakes. They are soft and easy to eat (Sarah also enjoys them). I added 4 tablespoons of cocoa powder to the banana & peanut butter flavor, and it came out very chocolatey and lovely.

Sarah's favorite food of the week

Sarah still only has half a tooth, so she prefers soft foods like banana, yogurt, sweet potato and soft bakes. Here's a nifty list of soft foods babies without teeth can eat.

Fred's activity of the week

It's currently school holidays so we are going to try a lot of science experiments. We did this Toddler Science Activity With Pepper And Dish Soap but it didn't really work, maybe because I used grinder pepper and not preground pepper.

I plan to buy preground pepper, and will try this experiment again. Fred wanted to splash and play with the water so next time I will do the experiment with more water in his water table.

Sarah's activity of the week

My sister wrote this article which includes a simple way to teach your baby to walk. I tried it out and it was fun to see Sarah walk with the step. I will try this walking exercise with her more often.
