Easy, Healthy Baby & Toddler Meals, Snacks and Activities

18 June - Playing with Flour...

Hi there. It's Sumari from EasyHealthyKids.com, with some floury easy & healthy food and activities for your kids...

The family: Fred is a headstrong 2 year, 7 month old toddler boy, and Sarah is my sweet 6 month old baby girl.

This week, lots of different things to do with flour - bake, cook and even play. Also, a new favorite food for Sarah, and Fred learns to steal...

Fred's favorite food of the week - These low carb apple and zucchini muffins are seriously good. My toddler son, Fred, couldn't get enough of it. He had 2 and a half whole muffins...and then stole some off Sarah's plate as well!

I adjusted the recipe by substituting the normal flour with coconut flour and using Stevia for some sweetness. Check out my version of these Apple Zucchini Muffins here, or see the original version here.

Sarah's favorite food of the week - Sarah turned 6 months this week and I started giving her some finger foods together with some purees. Her favorite food of the week is: a slice of bread with butter and cream cheese.

To help her get more healthy fat in her diet, I also made her this Avocado & Egg Yolk Puree. Tip: Make double or more of this recipe to store in the fridge or freezer.

Fred's morning tea box of the week - I added the zucchini apple muffins to Fred's snack box, together with carrot and celery sticks, apple slices and reduced sugar cranberries.

Activity of the week - Fred loves playing with play dough and I love to make it myself.

It is cheaper than constantly buying, and homemade playdough lasts much longer.

This (The Best & Easy, No Cook, Play Dough Recipe) is my goto play dough recipe. It includes instructions on how to make multiple colors from one batch of playdough. I made Fred's red, blue and natural. It looked very cool when blended.

Joke of the week - Why did the teddy bear say no to dessert?

Because it was stuffed.

Haha...
