28 August - Pasta And Music...
Hi there. It's Sumari from EasyHealthyKids.com, with some pasta recipes, cute songs, and playdough games for your kids...
The family: Fred is a headstrong 2 year, 9 month old toddler boy, and Sarah is my sweet 8 month old baby girl.
This week my kids enjoyed their favorite food - pasta. Fred also re-ignited his love for playdough (with a simple trick I'll share), and Sarah discovered a love for music (cute song included below).
Fred's favorite food of the week
Fred and Sarah love to eat pasta. This week I made this Udon Pasta Stir-fry, and Fred devoured it - maybe because it tastes like a takeaway meal.
I didn't have the recipe's vegetables on hand so I used what I had - Broccoli, Cauliflower and Edamame beans. The noodles were nice and soft for Sarah to eat as well.
Sarah's favorite food of the week
Sarah also enjoyed a pasta meal this week - this Tuna Pasta Casserole Bake.
I didn't have time to bake this dish, but the recipe said it is OK to serve after its been cooked and mixed. It was nice and soft for Sarah to eat.
We had 3 meals from this one dish, so it's great to make when you have time, and then enjoy the leftovers.
Fred's activity of the week
Fred used to love playing with playdough when he first got his playdoh set. To reignite his love for playing playdough I printed out these Playdough Shape Mats. He loved playing with them and making shapes with the playdough.
Sarah's activity of the week
This week at Playcentre we had a trip to a cultural song class. Sarah enjoyed the songs in another language (New Zealand Maori), maybe because of the nice beat.
So I'm going to learn songs that I can sign for her to develop her language. Here's one to try that's in Maori (it's about a bunny hopping along).
Do you have any great recipes or fun activities that you want to share? Let me know by replying to this email.
Talk to you next week.
