29 May - Knock, Knock...

Hi there. It's Sumari from EasyHealthyKids.com, with some fun ideas for baking with coconut flour (my favorite flour) and even a fun knock knock joke you can play with your kids...

The family: Fred is a 2 year, 7 month old toddler, well into his terrible two's, and Sarah is my 5 month old baby girl.

Fred's favorite food of the week - Fred loves chocolate cookies. And since I don't bake with flour or sugar (I use coconut flour and Stevia) it's healthy for him to eat. These keto chocolate cookies are fudgy and yummy. Just use 2 pans when baking and make them smaller because they spread quite a bit.

Sarah's favorite food of the week - I've made Sarah a salmon and potato puree this week, and she loves the savoury taste of it.

I followed this recipe that just uses salmon and an orange. However, I found it too fishy, so I microwaved potato mash and mixed it with the salmon in my food processor.

I also didn't use fresh salmon (way too expensive!) but used canned salmon instead.

Fred's morning tea box of the week - Fred's snack box for the week included these zucchini fritters, the chocolate cookies I listed above, a mandarin and veggie sticks (carrot, celery and cucumber).

Fred's activity of the week - We used this list of No Cost, Low Prep Activities as a guide for play. Fred and I played with his white board. I wrote words, letters and numbers on the board. I then asked him to erase it as I called it out. It's fun and he enjoyed erasing the right thing.

Sarah's activity of the week - This article (Learning Activities For Your 5 Month Old Baby) has an activity guide for 5 months old. I'm busy working through it. The activity we did was playing peekaboo with her favorite stuffed giraffe and a blanket. She loved it when the giraffe disappeared under the blanket, just to emerge again.

Joke of the week - I've came across some fun jokes you can tell your kids. My toddler son enjoys knock knock jokes. Here is Fred's favorite joke of the week:

Knock, knock.

Who’s there?

Harry.

Harry who?

Harry up and answer the door!

Hahaha...
