25 September - Keeping It Simple

Hi there. It's Sumari from EasyHealthyKids.com, and this week's newsletter is all about treating my kids with new, scrumptious food and snacks and learning new skills, while keeping the activities simple and easy to do.

The family: Fred is a headstrong 2 year, 11 month old toddler boy, and Sarah is my sweet 10 month old baby girl.

Fred's favorite food of the week

One of my favorite recipes from the food box we received is this Pan Fried Chicken Breasts With Cream Sauce. It's a super impressive recipe and Fred enjoyed everything, especially the cream sauce.

It's also a great recipe for special occasions, or just for when you want to treat your family. I thought about just chucking everything into the oven but it's worthwhile to pan fry it.

Sarah's favorite food of the week

I tried out new store-bought baby food smoothies...and unfortunately Sarah loves to eat it - straight from the pouch.

This can be quite expensive as she eats a pouch a day, so I'm now going to buy reusable baby food pouches and make her smoothies. Here are 3 Simple And Nutritious Smoothies For Babies that I'm going to make for her.

Fred's activity of the week

This week we did a extra simple and educational activity with Fred's blocks.

All you need are blocks and a marker.

I asked him to sort the blocks according to the number of bumps. Then I wrote a few words on the blocks that he had to match up. Here's how it's done.

Sarah's activity of the week

Sarah is now 10 months old and she's still commando crawling (on her tummy). I want to encourage her to crawl, as my sister told me that she taught her baby how to crawl. I'm going to try it out when Sarah's awake. Here are some more ways you can teach your baby to crawl.

Do you have any great recipes or fun activities that you want to share? Let me know by replying to this email.

Talk to you next week.
