Easy, Healthy Baby & Toddler Meals, Snacks and Activities

14 Aug - Getting Creative...

Hi there. It's Sumari from EasyHealthyKids.com, with some creative new ideas for food & activities for your kids...

The family: Fred is a headstrong 2 year, 9 month old toddler boy, and Sarah is my sweet 8 month old baby girl.

This week we got creative in the kitchen and play room. Fred baked new easy cookies with me, and learned two new educational games.

Fred's favorite food of the week

We didn't have eggs in the house so I came across this recipe for a "No-Egg" Almond Butter Cookies. It requires just 4 ingredients to make a soft and healthy cookie.

I'll just double the recipe next time since it only makes 12 small cookies in one batch.

Sarah's favorite food of the week

I created an One Week Baby Led Weaning Meal Plan for Sarah and us. This is what we will eat this week. It suitable for the whole family, depending on your baby's eating abilities.

Fred's activity of the week

We did an educational activity this week where Fred learned colors and counting.

I used his white board and pom-poms to do two activities inspired by this Cupcake Pan Counting Game.

To learn counting I wrote the numbers 1 to 5 on his white board together with the relevant amount of spaces next to them. I then asked Fred to place the right amount of pom-poms in the spaces. To learn colors I wrote the colors on the board and placed a few pom-poms of that color on the board. I then asked him to sort the rest of the pom poms according to the colors.

You can get a free printable for this here.

Sarah's activity of the week

I want to create a treasure box for Sarah with interesting things that she can play with. Then for a variation I'm going to use the rubber bands idea from MOMtessori Life to make it tricky for her to take out her treasures.
